I think about writing a lot. And, the 9-13 hour days I’ve been working for a while leaves me with little energy at the end of the day.
Nearly every month that has gone by since my last post has a draft or two or three, just waiting for me to attend to it.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you likely have observed this pattern of mine. Write, write, write. Pauuuuuusseeeeeee.
So, some things that are top of mind for me right now.
“Let’s be more professional.”
The tension between power over relationships and accountability.
When process gets in the way of doing.
When expectations aren’t right sized to the hours in the day, but there’s a fixaction on expectations. But, then, later, when someone is of more sound body and soul, they admit the work can burn people out, and no, we don’t want that.
How we call things the same thing. Case in point:
Tension with techonology. From spell checkers to data centers and lots in between and outside of.
The tragedy of fast tracking college and how it doesn’t match development of the prefrontal cortex.
