What is organizing?

A quick look at what it means to build aligned community

Introduction

I peruse the social medias. And, my feed is filled with other progressive folks trying to make sense of this world. A question keeps coming up - what can we do? The answer is that we have to organize. So, I got on my cell phone podium and talked about what that means.

Final Reflections

Our social contract has us in this racist, sexist, classist dystopia. I believe we all can smell what true freedom looks like, but it’s hard for us to envision it. The social contract builds a lot of things onto what our inner beings know to be true. And growing into ourselves means a lot of shaving off of those beliefs that have been handed to us. It’s hard, challenging, difficult work, not for the faint of heart. And it’s a crucial piece of organizing. To know yourself. Truly know yourself. So then you can know others, and bring those knowings together to make a better world.

I have maybe an irrational faith that we can do this. Because if I didn’t have this faith, if I didn’t have this hope, what would it all be for?
